Coltellerie Berti, founded in 1895 by David Berti, has been continuously making knives in the same place, Scarperia in the province of Florence, for four generations, without interruption and always with the greatest respect for tradition. The knives are entirely handmade, with our motto being “He who starts it, finishes it”, as each one is made wholly by just one craftsman, with no division of labour. With regard to the actual use of the knives, Berti’s tradition has been create products for specific purposes, with excellence, to produce a true cut that respects the quality of the ingredients, the dishes themselves, and the work of the kitchen. There is a pleasing sweetness to the quality of the cut, which is maintained over time, and finally there is a certain joy in being able to use tools that have been made to be handed down from generation to generation.Coltellerie Berti
