Saskia Scarpe su Misura – A Shoemaker’s vocation

As a little girl Vivian Saskia Wittmer used to stop to admire the shoes in the shop windows of Berlin. That was how her vocation as shoemaker was to begin. Later on she served her apprenticeship at the best shoe workshop in Germany, with the cobbler Klemann who taught her the art and the craft of shoemaking.

Saskia then moved on to Florence where she attended Stefano Bemer’s shoemaker’s workshop and it was in the year 2000 that she decided it was time to actively pursue her dream of opening her very own workshop. Entering her Atelier you can breathe in the concentration, the precision, the passion and the joy of creating.

The shoes displayed in the workshop are ideas turned into footwear. “It’s really important to create a relationship with the client, understanding his world and what his true needs are, to be able to create the very best shoe for him” says Saskia
