ARCHITECTURE, PAINTING, SCULPTURE FROM TRADITION TO DIGITAL AVANT-GARDE RH+ was born in 2017 from the alliance of two Swiss artists: Judith Holstein, painter and architect, and sculptor Gianni Rodenhäuser. Together they have created a series of urban works of art, choosing to place them in run-down city locations. Judith and Gianni aim not only to embellish and uplift these areas, but also to make art accessible to the broad public, not only a select few. United by a passion for art, the duo is at the cutting edge of the digital age and constantly creating innovative applications of avant-garde technologies to their oeuvre. As a result, they have built new architectural worlds and very large digital sculptures viewable at 360° thanks to VR and AR. They are also creating unique, animated NFTs of their digital art, always with a strong metaphysical dimension. RHplus’ works of art are mainly figurative with the addition of enriching abstract layers where appropriate. The mixed media paintings are executed in oil and acrylic while the sculptures range from marble to bronze to the very latest synthetic materials. “In our work, we validate a traditional techniques of wax, the ideal for small-dimensional sculpture modeled directly in wax, the modern and innovative methods. This technique , ancient and refined, can be seen in four different ways: For the operation of larger dimensions and lower details, we add information about digital technology. This choice was driven by curiosity and attraction towards the possibility of modeling works in a domestic environment, without the limitations of a dedicated physical space. We started using the digital at the beginning of ’90, initially with Photoshop for two-dimensional creations. With the arrival of the first three-dimensional modeling program at the beginning of the year 2000, we have expanded our capabilities, enabling us to perform more complex and large-sized operations. The use of digital eliminates the need for a traditional workshop, with all the tools to work the metal for the armature of the sculpture. It allows you to skip the initial stages of modeling in clay and transformation in gesso, typical of the Persian wax technique. We may select the material suitable for the stamp based on the sculpture and its final scope. In this case, the work can be realized as a gioiello in gold or as a monument in bronzo or fiber di vetro. This gives a notevole flexibility and freedom to our creativity. Protecting VR and AR, we have started to explore this immersive technology through the Oculus mask, trying to understand its potential in terms of visualization and interaction with our operation.”RH+ ART DESIGN AND CREATION
• Model the sculpture in clay or plasticine, giving the initial shape to the entire operation.
• I will transform this sculpture into a gesso model, which will serve as a base for the next phase.
• I will create a replica in wax of the sculpture in gesso.
• Proceed to the fusion in metal, follow the termination to refine and detail.
In conclusion, our application to sculpture combines respect for traditional techniques with the exploration of digital possibilities, always with the objective of spingere and confinement of creativity and innovation.Vedi anche:
