Born in Venice, graduated of the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice-SLN, of the International School of Graphics, and in Political Science at the University of Padua, Paola Volpato is a Venetian artist who has chosen to live in Noale, close to nature. Her art highlights the profound rift with the natural environment that contemporary society increasingly widens, subjugating the feminine generative potential and nature—a rift that our androcentric civilization increasingly widens, incapable of aligning itself with the laws of survival of all living species. Paola Volpato has built a forty-year career with exceptional resonance both in the museum circuit and in social engagement. Using diverse media such as painting, installation, photography, and video, her work emotionally engages and questions the viewer about contemporary identity and the state of the present. She has created large-scale works (among others, Teatro vegetale spanning an entire hill overlooking the Tiber, the light installation Tulip on Tower on a medieval tower, and the large mural Circle for the entrance to a hospital). He worked as a textile designer for major brands including Ratti. Her work has been exhibited in over 300 exhibitions and is held in museums and important permanent collections worldwide. She participated in the 54th Venice Biennale.
