Lorenzo Foglia, born in Viareggio in 1971, is the heir to over eighty years of artistic history. He began his activity in 1985, but it would be more correct to say that he has always done it as it happens in all families of artists and craftsmen where from an early age one breathes the air of the trade and works in the workshop. The story of the Foglia family’s artistic heritage begins with Carlo Foglia, born in 1910 in the province of Bergamo, where he trained as a draftsman, engraver and wax modeller. In 1935 Carlo chose to open his own workshop in Florence, fascinated by the Renaissance art of this city which was particularly congenial to him and of which he always considered himself a citizen by adoption. The activity then passes to his son, Giuliano Foglia to finally reach his nephew, Lorenzo. In his multifaceted activity, Lorenzo works for the Royal Houses of Europe, the Theater and the Cinema making furnishings and jewels, but also prestigious International Awards such as the Cups for the San Marino Formula 1 Grand Prix. He teaches Art permanently at Foglia’s Lab and collaborates with the most prestigious Florentine goldsmith schools. In his creations he combines silver with old and new materials, wood, jasper, lapis lazuli and horn, but also plexiglass and nylon. Sculptor, Goldsmith Chiseller, Classic Draftsman, Designer, Photographer, Photo and 3D Cad Editor, he is Master Craftsman riconosciuto dalla Regione Toscana, Artigiano OMA e Maestro d’Arte e Mestiere per la Fondazione Cologni di MilanoLORENZO FOGLIA – FOGLIA FIRENZE 1935
