Katerina Korshun was born in 1982 in Kazakhstan. She began her artistic journey by attending a five-year fine arts school in her hometown. Later, she chose fashion design as her profession, earning a degree from Vitebsk State Technological University in Belarus, where she studied painting, drawing, composition, and the history of art and costume. After several years working as a fashion designer for companies specializing in women’s clothing, she left the fashion industry in search of creative fulfillment. A turning point came in 2009 when she moved to Prague, where her passion for textiles found new expression through the discovery of the wool felting technique. She focused on reinterpreting this traditional craft artistically and experimenting with natural materials. Combining her discoveries in felting with her experience in fashion design, she created unique, one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories. Since 2012, she has been dedicated to teaching, conducting numerous workshops across Europe, Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. In 2014, she founded the Online School of Contemporary Felting, developing dozens of video courses and training around four thousand students worldwide. She has participated in group exhibitions in the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy. In 2013, she presented a solo exhibition in Prague. Her works are part of private collections in USA, France, Greece, Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Since 2021, she has lived and worked in Italy, continuing her artistic practice. She uses felting as a visual language in contemporary art, exploring the expressive potential of textiles and natural materials.
