Pietro Virzi, born in Enna in 1954, moved to Milan in 1962 and at the age of 14 went to a workshop to learn the trade of upholsterer. He received there the education and training needed for the profession, attending the Atisea school for upholsterers. After his training he began working for himself, collaborating with numerous shops, including Toniolo and Parinis, two of the historically important Milanese upholstery workshops.
Pietro Virzi became a director of Atisea, as well as vice president and president of CITA (Consociazione Italiana Tappezzieri Arredatori).
In 2018 the Cologni Foundation recognised his contribution by awarding him the title of Master of Art and Craft.
VIMAS, the company Pietro Virzi established in 1981, now works with the leading architecture firms in Milan and creates the furnishings for the Christian Dior stores in Italy
